The thing is they had backups. Weeden and Cassel, while not starters, have played reasonably well in the recent past. The catch is that even Romo did not play that well with the Cowboys offense. Weeden even had two good games after he got released from the Cowboys. But the Cowboys, despite having a good OL, had only a decent receiver in Witten, and no WR who were any good (Dez Bryant was hurt all year). Then add in the poor play of their D (not many sacks, none of the turnovers from 2 years ago, missed tackles...).

Backup QB is not the biggest problem the Cowboys have. Not even close. They need to get a passing game, and that is regardless of who plays QB. They need a better D that gets the turnovers that were so key to their success 2 years ago. They need to develop a pass rush, and play better on ST. The popular thing is to look at QB and point to that being the thing that changed, but they did not play like the same team from their resent success.

depends on what comes with it. If it's a couple of 2's... could be worth moving back further.

There's good players in every draft. Hope we can take some that stay healthy for once.

They were talking on the radio today about the 49ers at 7 as a trade partner to get ahead of the Cowboys to take a QB.

Just a thought, the GM who made the Julio Jones trade is now in Houston. If I remember right he gave their 1st, 2nd and 4th that year and a first the next year. Houston needs a qb. Hmmmm...

Would love to trade down if can, then pray that Ramsey is there.

Better not be trading down if we want Ramsey.

That's what I'm looking for if we trade down. Not just an extra 2nd and 3rd.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Dimitroff is still the GM in Atlanta.

Love this scenario. On the radio this morning they suggested something similar, but you take that extra #2 and trade for Joe Thomas, maybe then sign Alex Mack, draft DeForest Buckner at #7 and that would be a hell of a start to the new season.

Been hearing Mack didnt have that great a year so how much you want to spend? @ 31, i think i'd only want to give him a 3 year deal. 4 if it is voidable.
