In that respect yes, but not the others , which is what I said. He has a better arm and more mobile.
    Herb will get there.
I think he's smarter than Rivers in some ways. I think the shit show continued with Lombardi's inability to adjust including having a back-up for Herbert when injured. Herbert goes into playoffs with injuries still affecting him and then he loses Williams for the entire off season. Running game sucks balls so I think he actually gave up in some ways. There was no help coming to the rescue.
Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

He was on some incredibly loaded teams in his career and never made the SB so I'm not sure I'd hold him up as a beacon of what to strive for.
Yeah well he also gave us many late leads only to have the defense lose it in the last seconds so throwing it up hoping for a flag is sometimes all he had.

Here’s hoping surviving Lombardi enhanced his leadership abilities.

Can't hurt, right? But he needs to keep his eyes downfield - not on the rush. I hope Justin didn't develop bad habits last year - trying to survive . . . . . .

Healthy ribs, shoulder, OL, WRs and a quality vet NFL OC / former NFL QB play caller will enhance Herbert's leadership abilities.

It's not hard to understand why Ekeler is frustrated with his level of compensation when a player like Odell Beckham gets $15 guaranteed, 2-1/2 times what Ekeler will earn in 2023.

Beckham will turn 31 during the season and has blown out the same knee twice and will not have played any football for 20 months when the 2023 season begins. He is a diva, not the best teammate and has bounced around the league, he's on his 4th team in as many years. He has not been an elite WR for years. In his prime playing for the Giants in his early 20s, his best season was 1,450 yds receiving and 13 TDs. In a half season with the best team in football in the 2021-22 season with Matt Stafford as his QB, he had 27 receptions for 305 yds, for an 11.3 yd average. He scored 5 TDs. His catch percentage was 56.3%, for 6.4 yds per target.

Ekeler is going to be 28 next month. He has played his entire career for the Chargers. He has been pretty durable. He did have a hip injury that kept him out of six games in 2020. But after coming back from that, he's led the league in scoring two seasons in a row. Just as a receiver, he's caught 177 passes for 1,369 yds and 13 TDs. Running the ball, he's averaged 4.5 yds per carry the past two seasons with 1,826 yds and 25 TDs. Ekeler is a great teammate and sets a great example in the locker room with his work ethic. They call him "pound for pound" for a reason.

You know, if Ekeler simply switched his position and became a full time WR he'd probably be a top 20 player in that category and prolong his career and make more money.

I understand, Herbert has also had crappy defenses that give up the lead late - see KC last year.

It's nice to have a QB who is the LEAST of our worries....

Agree - Herbert and Rivers back to back is a luxury most teams don’t ever have.
