Shocking, but maybe not. Horvath didn't have the speed. I can't remember a time when there wasn't a FB on the roster.

        Answer: HORVATH IS OUT!

Los Angeles Chargers Claim Linebacker Tanner Muse

The Los Angeles Chargers today claimed linebacker Tanner Muse off waivers. In a corresponding move, the team waived fullback Zander Horvath.

Muse entered the NFL as a third-round selection (100th overall) by Las Vegas in 2020 and has played in 23 career games, including a start, all with the Seattle Seahawks. Defensively, he has recorded nine tackles (five solo) and a pass defensed, while adding 11 special teams tackles over the last two seasons.

The Belmont, N.C., native appeared in 59 games as a safety over four seasons (2016-19) at Clemson after redshirting in 2015, finishing his career tied for the most games played in program history. Muse was a team captain in his final season, earning Associated Press third-team All-America honors and was also a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, which annually recognizes college football's top defensive back. He totaled 192 tackles (105 solo), 10.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery and a blocked kick for the Tigers.

Interesting. See if Horvath is even picked up. I have no idea the plan without a FB but I would think that makes a BLOCKING TE more of a priority

Maybe this portends exciting changes in Red Zone offense.

So, Popper not always right...he said Horvath would be on final 53 based on ST play...well, I never understood keeping any player just for ST ability (except maybe a top gunner who can also be a decent reserve in another position)...Horvath only got a few touches all season long, and wasn't even used all that much for blocking...Moore doesn't really use FB's anyway...so all this makes sense...

Because Lombozo was too busy dialing up those short stick routes...or sending Ekkie or Kelley up the gut for nada...
