Jaimes is a disappointment. When they drafted him I thought they may have found a jewel in the rough. He was a four year starter at LT for Nebraska. I thought a guy that was a four year starter in the Big 10 must be a pretty good prospect. I was wrong.
A 5th round pick who played 4 years at LT in Nebraska.
My hopes were very high too.
No one's more disappointed than I.
Jaimes was my adopted bolt that class!
Alohi was mine from his class and that's panning out great so far.
Darius Davis, don't let daddy down!

Accurate talent assessment is HARD . . . . . . . . .
Yes. The article suggests that the Chargers might end up trading Hopkins at the end of camp.
I'm saying, I don't see another NFL team giving up a pick to get him.
For me, with the future - Hopkins will totally have to out perform Dicker to keep the job. But I hope they both have excellent camps so one does become trade bait. Even flipping a 7th for a 6th is value
I never could figure out the hype surrounding Jaimes. Never impressed me at all. This is about exactly I expected his time with the Chargers to play out. Now with McFadden and Salyer I think we got some dogs and it's going to show.
He'd be a good addition athletically, he'd solve the problem of not being able to get a run game going between the tackles. But Telesco/Spanos are very risk averse and I don't think they would even consider him, even though he seems to have put his off-the-field troubles past him.
The new allegations against Tyreek Hill works against a player like Hunt IMO because it shows that the troubles can bubble up again at any moment.

I expect Sarrell will emerge as the "best of the bench". He got rode hard last year but he had moments of good play and now has a year of tough lessons and Duke's camp, Duke is great at getting guys from occasional good plays to consistent good play
I agree McFadden will likely blow past Jaimes. One thing notable is ALL of our OL had trouble executing Lombo's rushing clusterfuck designs, its not improbable that ALL OL players suddenly look better in a scheme that can be executed
Three years is enough to see if a guy can develop.
I bet McFadden ultimately outplays him in TC... and Jaimes hits the Practice Squad.
He's been beaten out by Feiler, Aboushi, Schofield, Zion and Salyer. McFadden (who I like) doing same wouldn't surprise me. Jaimes has been steady on the FG unit. What ever.
Personally, I like that the OL is held to a higher standard under Staley than in the recent past. This is a very good group.
I'm not prejudging Moore's decisions. He uses an extra OL more than most. Jaimes team familiarity may buy him another year.
