1. Watching Ekeler's professional workout and preparation behaviorsz
2. Realizing he got the snot beat out of him for not being similarly prepared and lost an entire year
and he prepared the shit out of himself this off-season and comes in as a POWER back. he has the natural size and body structure to be powerful, i think.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

PFF says the only thing holding the Chargers back now is the secondary. It doesn't point the finger directly at Derwin James, but it says the Chargers' secondary looks good on paper but fails to live up to its billing. The only praise they have is for Asante Samuel Jr.

There has been an interesting Derwin debate, but no matter what side of the argument a Charger fan is on, lets be frank...
The entire Charger defense has not lived up to its billing the last 2 years, and that is not remotely arguable.

Additionally, seeing more growth from corner Asante Samuel, Jr. will be key for the team. He had two interceptions last season and 57 combined tackles. Samuel Jr. was given a 63.6 rating from PFF and will be looking to improve his overall game.
