Swami says..Our kicker will be the unsung hero…
or not. Want vague? You got vague. (Either props or he’ll be hung in effigy). “Angle that 53 yarder to the right. let it swerve thru the uprights.” 23 seconds left.

Hey! He’s been ok, so far. Not asked or needed to make a long one for a tie or a win. Hopkins is ok in my book thus far. True…he hasn’t been asked to make a 55+ field goal for the win.

          Lynn had
          Offensive Coordinator: Ken Whisenhunt

          Defensive Coordinator: Gus Bradley

And let them do their job. Staley hired scrubs.

Hard to believe we took a step back from Lynn but that’s what it looks like right now.

poor little guy is in over his head. Almost feel bad for him

Good luck to our new starting LT Salyer !

I believe in this young man !

"Salyer, a sixth-round pick, played left tackle in his final two seasons at Georgia, where he helped the Bulldogs win a national championship last January.

"What we're trying to do is keep the sides the same, keep continuity," Staley said. "For us, we feel like that is the best option for us going into this game plan."

"It means a lot to me that my coaches and teammates believe in me enough to give me the opportunity," said Salyer, who becomes the second rookie to start on the line this season, along with right guard Zion Johnson, the 17th overall pick last April."

Chargers edge rusher Joey Bosa will undergo surgery for a groin injury he suffered in Sunday's loss and be placed on injured reserve, coach Brandon Staley said Wednesday.

Two years ago? That was last December! Staley was gearing this team up for the playoff's before they imploded. Injuries weren't an issue in that game as far as I recall. Don't want to insinuate that poor coaching had a role in that loss, too many ruffled feathers. It was just one of those things.

Sayler just has to give up 8 pressures on 25 snaps to be better than Norton

An OC or DC is hired by the GM. After that, they get to pick whoever they want as assistant coaches. Unbeknownst to us is the level of those assistant coaches. That’s part of the package accepted. Assistants.

are the Jags weapons just THAT good?

wts, I'm a bit more hopeful
I think getting our weapons back will be huge.
We were always skating on thin ice with our Oline, now we can expect it to continue to suck ala 2020 or a smidge better.

I'll double down on my stance that weapons are what open up am offense in todays NFL, and we didn't have the horses against an under rated Jags team.

even with Allen and Parham coming back, we need a game breaking threat to open them all up.
get Herbert out in space with roll outs as someone suggested and give him more time to compute the play.
We're not going to consistconsistentlye quick game that we're tempted to go to with a shit Oline because none of our guys can get open that quickly.

I wish Staley had more answers on D post Bosa, (like others) I suspect he's not the genius he was made out to be.
Friend, did you see the Jags shutout Frank Reich's Colts the week prior, and then those uppity Jags knocked off the Chargers in back-to-back games? Does anyone think Frank Reich should be fired for that loss? Reich's Colts regrouped and knocked off the Chiefs Sunday.

And as I posted, Salyer taking reps at LT with the first unit in practice. The kid has poise. And as everyone knows the old football axiom is true: You play like you practice. Let's see what happens in Houston on Sunday.
