Is Clapp best shot a c*ap shot?

The biggest worry apart of keeping Herbert in one piece is how to establish run, with Norton and Clapp we could not do that with CL and RS.
If we can show any glimpses that we can run the ball - season is not over but otherwise we are toasted.

If Staley doesn’t replace Norton at LT for continuity sake, then he’s okay with subjecting Herbert to double digit pressures and sacks.

It’s like keeping Herbert in the Jag game until the end.

      Reckless and foolish.

Salyer was terrific in preseason. He’s a road grader that could improve our ground attack too.

Clapp cannot give us the smarts needed for our blocking adjustments.

Bank on Linsley getting our OL to the point of being functionable.

Didn't he play guard in the preseason? Or did he get time at tackle? I can't remember.

The Cowboys had rookie Tyler Smith at LG all preseason but shifted him to LT to fill in for Tyron Smith and he's been fantastic. Could the exact same thing happen for us?

Smith was the 24th pick in the draft, while Salyer was the 195th pick in the sixth round. But what the hell, can he really be worse than Storm?

Guys may get around him but they won’t go through him.

Yes, there are worse players than Storm. Maybe Salyer is a jewel but if he's actually worse than Norton, that would be big trouble for Herbert.

Salyer has a great college pedigree and played in multiple meaningful games at Georgia...no reason not to throw him in there unless he looks totally lost in practice. Clapp also showed me enough against Jax to feel OK with him in a backup role.

So you are saying the Chargers could have traded down in the first round while at the same time drafting a good OT in the form of Smith, who would be our starting LT this next game? Instead Smith is the starting LT for the cowboys after their starting LT went down, and with their backup QB starting are 2-1. Nauhhhh that would of made too much sense while at the same time it could have brought depth to our OT position.

Maybe Zion could play RT? Probably not, but better than Storm. Wait Staley and TT both stated on record they thought Pip and Storm were both good OT so they had to be comfortable with the idea of both being starters since these 2 have always been next man up as well as projected as a starter. I will never understand the logic by TT and Staley to get a OG with a high first round pick, while we only had 1 good OT, therefore If we miss out on the PO's this season bye bye to both this HC and GM!

I no longer trust all these over paid players. How many of these guys are taking a flyer and not rushing to come back to play. Linsley, Jackson, Keenan, all by week 3. I have a feeling that this team is going to get a complete cleansing by the end of next season. There seriously needs to be a 50% cut in pay per season for offensive linemen who can't play for a season claiming soft tissue injury.
