I expect more rushing attempts, too.

But I also expect more success converting on 3rd (and 4th) down, which extends drives, and therefore, snap count.

Bottom line, I expect the Chargers to have more offensive snaps in 2022 than they did last year. So if there's a reduction in the number of passes thrown, overall, I suspect that number will be small.

It means the OL needs to rush block better. I’m confident Eke and Spiller can find lanes if there are lanes to find. I am really excited to see Horvath in the sense that I saw some great tape but don’t if its real or not. Excited to find out.

Yes, or any of the other non Eks backs on the squad.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Yep...just keep Slayer for those 3 years...this is the key SB window time--we have Herbie, KA, Mike Will, Ekkie, Bosa, Derwin, Mack, a decent O-line...not a time to start selling off valuable assets...the WINDOW IS NOW...

Until or unless Josh Palmer elevates his game to near-elite, Keenan Allen isn't dispensable.

The Bolts have had plenty of awful 3rd round draft picks over the years (even though Keenan himself was a 3rd rounder), so it's stupid to compare Palmer's rookie contributions against the likes of Chris Watt, Matt Tuerk, Anthony Waters, Brandon Taylor or Craig Mager.

As a rookie, Palmer collected 33 passes, for 353 yards-- a 10.7 average-- and 4 touchdowns. These aren't spectacular numbers, but considering who else was on the field with him when Justin Herber was looking for a receiver (Keenan, Ekeler, Mike W., Jared Cook, primarily), 33 catches is a significant share of the Reception Pie for a rook. Vincent Jackson- a 2nd round pick-- didn't surpass that number until his third NFL season, when he had 41 catches, after having 3 and 27 in his first two seasons.

This season, there will be a revised set of targets that Herb will be distributing his passes to: Keenan, Mike, Ek, Everett and Palmer. Josh could have a really solid season in 2022, and still have no more than 40 receptions.
Agree...SOME people, ahem, were critical of Palmer, but I thought he had a pretty solid rook season...and as u correctly point out, he was playing 3rd fiddle behind Slayer and Mike Will, not to mention Ekkie, Guyton and the TE's getting a lot of those pass targets...

Somebody has to go. We have 8 RB / FB. Probably keep 4 - 5.
The numbers may be impacted by WR / KR who carry the ball, TE / FB blockers.
Ekeler and Spiller are locks. The rest are going to have to make a case for themselves in training camp.

With how little the returning RBs showed, gotta think the guys just drafted have a leg up. But let them battle in TC.

Any talk or moving on from Allen is ridiculous. We have one of the best wr duo in the league. At a reasonable rate the way things look.

Also, when the coach first got here, he said we are throwing that thing down the field. I don’t see that stopping. What are running game will become, is run out the game to seal the victory.

Palmer is a professional receiver. Good to have in case either Slayer or Dub get dinged

The run is an asset to the pass offense and vice versa. Not just a means to run out the clock, it can draw the defense up on the LOS and expand multiple choice scenarios for the D to cover.
We will throw that s*** downfield.
