Instead of giving AJ the ability to fire Turner and hire someone new in 2012, the Spanos gave it one more year - both GM & head coach's destiny being intertwined.
I think that is what will go down here.
But then again, Telesco seems like a permanent fixture within the organization, like barnacles on a baleen whale.

The draft is done by Telesco, coordinated with Kevin Kelly w/our scouts, and with much input from the coaches.
It must be recognized that it is always at least somewhat a team effort and not solely on TT.
We do tend to stay true to our board as talent level is ranked.
A huge issue is the different ideas about which exact players best fit our schemes with each successive set of coaches.
For example, it is an eyeopener that well-regarded LB coach Michael Wilhoite was let go, especially in the context of our LB population.
Everyone knows that K9 was traded up for and drafted for Anthony Lynn, and Green Dot Tranq is a free agent who was also drafted pre Staley.
We must stay tuned re player retention and be detailed about exact fit when studying prospects, as must TT and Company.
Surely Staley has sharp, succinct ideas about what he wants to do.
TT will synergize it all as figurehead.Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

With next year's schedule this will be difficult.
What up and coming bright offensive mind would be willing to take the job of offensive coordinator? A job likely to evaporate in a year?
Deano cannot seem to take into account the reasonably foreseeable repercussions of his decisions.
It is maddening to watch.
Shane Steichen comes to mind.
It is just a matter of being able to find that guy: something I don't think this group is capable of doing.
Someone wrote somewhere that young Brandon Staley wants to bring in a Shanahan guy and the Shanahan system.
That doesn't give me a good feeling. iIs what Staley does, narrowing the choice to the few in some system or group.
What a disaster....pretty much bringing in a new assistant coaching staff.
How does firing the linebacker coach reflect on Staley: Staley being an ex linebacker coach? Very poorly!
Staley did a crappy job teaching him what he wanted.
I've lost a lot of respect for the guy just going along with it to save his job.

I cannot recall him ever trading back in the draft to acquire more picks - which means more spins of the wheel
His third and fourth round picks have not produced.
Spiller and Woods - how many snaps did they take this year
Did Easton Stick, the guy drafted to be "Taysom Hill-lite" did he ever play a single meaningful snap
this is a big draft for him - he needs to find players on those cost controlled contracts with herbert coming due. Cannot have these guys that might be good
Jaimes is a bust so far
Niemann is good for Special Teams
Rumph, McKitty, Palmer are all up and downLast edited by Bolt4Knob; 01-18-2023, 07:17 AM.

It seems Telesco just doesn't understand how the draft is supposed to work.
Early round picks should start( especially on the bad/mediocre teams TT has built) or at least be rotational day 1.
Mid round picks need to fill out your Teams and push your starters.
Never trading back, never trading vets.....TT never improves his draft capital. He's way too conservative in his approach.
I'm sure the half wit offspring of he who shall not be named is partly responsible but if TT has ANY integrity left, he'd bloody well quit!
