Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:
- 69-74 record
- 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
- Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
- 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
- 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
- Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
- Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

Right as the Chargers arrived at the line, Cook started motioning to the inside of Allen, off the shoulder of left tackle Rashawn Slater. As Cook was motioning, Williams adjusted his stance slightly, stepping backward. Williams eventually came fully set, but Cook was still moving slightly when Herbert took the snap. Herbert faked a handoff to Rountree, and Cook ran a rub route off of Allen’s back. He was open in the flat, and Herbert found him for a touchdown.
This was negated by the illegal shift penalty, called on Williams and Cook.
Here is what the rule states: “All offensive players are required to come to a complete stop and be in a set position simultaneously for at least one full second prior to the snap. Failure to do so is an Illegal Shift.”
This never happened because Williams adjusted his stance once Cook began his motion to the inside.

Brandon Staley took a risk that has historically been pretty rare for Charger coaches. And made that risk work.
Then, no one would blame them for the loss. It would have ruined the psyche of your field goal kicker with a miss, but you won't get blamed.

Ya know, Washington, Dallas, the Chiefs. Talk about a challenging first 3 games. 2-1 is pretty damn impressive. Now, bring on some easier teams! Also, we got thru with that record so far. The other teams in our division have yet to face what we faced. 3 pretty damn good teams. Now coming up, it's their turn, collectively.

The plays where you had 2 receivers in the same location were examples of it.
Lombardi had a lot of work to do. A QB like Herbert isn’t a dink and dunk QB. Chiefs have a terrible defense. Should’ve been throwing all over them really.
We’ve also had a lot of big plays called back plus the drop by Guyton.
