    Herbert’s accuracy was exceptional today.

Guys I thought I would see more of where Tranquil and JJ.

Ekeler looked good and had a key blitz pick up.

KJ Hill showed promise as a receiver in the 4th. Best game as a Charger.

MW got his contract year off to a good start.

    Jared Cook was very good.
Credit that o-line vs the so-called 'Best D-line of the NFL' giving Herbert consistent 2.5 seconds in the pocket.

Herbert looking good throwing lateral passes.

    Norton should start at RT.

Roundtree can give us 10-15 solid carries per game.

We still have isolation design plays for Parham in our pocket.

We still have RB's in space plays in our pocket.

We still have lots of deep plays in our pocket.

I’d say its only because we don’t have Tbilly but I just checked his stats: he caught 1 pass for 6 yards.

I'm going to rewatch the game tonight, but for now I have one high-level observation:

        We won a close game.

The game plan to not hold the ball long was not going to lend itself to going deep much. That will change when we play agains weaker fronts.

There are different ways to spread a defense. The early deep out stuff opened up the deep middle.

I would guess our average depth of target is in the 9-10 yard range despite the lack of bombs. That's good. Herbert was accurate on intermediate stuff from a clean pocket. That's good.

Last season, Herbert wasn't as good in the a clean pocket than he was on the run. With the clean pockets he's going to be concentrating on higher probability chunk plays over home runs. I'd take time off the clock, than to give the ball back to the otherside in a shootout.

They were also playing a 4 man front, man under with a deep shell. They ain't stupid. There was too much ground to cover for them though, even dropping 7.

I'm not sure if Ek was the back, but there was some great pass blocking by the RB's. Herbert got very little pressure from one of the best lines in Football.

I think we can dismiss the meme from last season that he’s not as good from the pocket without pressure. He was pretty good today. He seldom had to move much.

I ducked out for 15 minutes, missed the Herbert...fumble, was it?
                      What happened?

Opposing Ds are going to watch this film and not be happy. Pick your poison. Bring the safeties up to cover that 15 yard zone and the deep pass opens up. WFT had safeties 25+ yards deep most snaps.

I'm very happy with how Herbert progressed from last year.

His arm got hit as he was passing. his arm was clearly coming forward and it was an imcomplete that flew about 15 yards and bounced in and through the end zone. Refs bizarrely called it a fumble for WFT touchback. Ridiculous.
