So do, some do not. Give Attaochu time.
I don't remember Dielman getting injured more at the beginning of his career than he did later on. Looking at the stats, it looks like he only played in 6 games his first year. But, at that time, was he really on the team? I know he wasn't a starter, and I remember stories about how we had this undrafted dude I didn't know who was converting from defense to offense. Once he became a starter, he missed like one game a year and always had something that was affecting his play.
Ingram has yet to adjust. I'm not counting on him, Attaochu, Te'o, Butler, Floyd, Watt, Allen, Addae, or Verrett playing 16 games this season. The Chargers have to be ready to win without them. Coaches have to make adjustments when we lose certain players. I've seen that adjustment happen on the defense. We are more aggressive when Verrett is on the field than when he is off. I didn't see that same adjustment on offense last year. If we have significant losses on the offensive line again, we can't continue to call a lot of plays in which the defense has enough time to hit Rivers. If Allen is clearly too hurt to be of use, we can't continue to put him on the field. Don't leave it up to the player to admit he's too injured to play - players have a lot of pride. The coach has to recognize when a player isn't getting the job done and make a change.Last edited by Guest; 09-17-2015, 06:30 AM.
