I want to do this thread to show all the times the team blitzed under Bradley in 2020.

Every 2020 Chargers highlight against other teams, go to certain parts in the video of the highlights I list down.

The roster had weaknesses in 2020. New players replaced the ones who left, so there will be upgrades to certain areas. Kenneth Murray is a known blitzer and he was getting used to the game in the pros, he'll get better with more experience.

For 2021, we'll see what's different. I want to use this thread to record down every blitz and examine all the instances.

Tranquill’s blitz last night, the one where he had a clear path to the QB and forced the incomplete, was my favorite play of the game. Tranq’s timing was immaculate and the QB actually did a really good job just getting the ball out.

I think we’re gonna see a lot more of that, especially with Murray, but Tranq and White will get their share.

And it’s about damn time.

Only brought 4 on the play, 42 dropped to cover hook zone. Good disguise of pressure to get a 3v2 on the left with 2 blockers on the right holding their dicks.

Wow, that is a sorry blitz record...yes, it will be interesting to see how Staley changes things...lots of talk of disguising coverages, so besides LB blitz, I would expect to see a LOT of safety blitzing by Derwin...and Tranq...

I agree. No wonder we lost all those close games. We basically let the opposing O dictate the tempo of the game.

That's nice work, PowderBlue! Just curious, how did you define blitz? Bringing more than 4 guys? And did you only consider passing blitzes or did you also include the designed run blitzes?

Staley is going to be harder to define, I bet. All the stunting, overloads on ones side/underload on the other, etc. Some of the time it will look like a blitz and feel like a blitz (and hopefully work like one!) but it won't be more than 4 rushing.

PS - Bradley calling CB blitzes in the first preseason game. There is a Raider highlight of Geno Smith getting blown up by a corner when they played the Raiders this weekend.

Getting a guy unblocked through disguise even only 4 ruushing I think will be far more common with so many at the line. It forces qbs to think max protect or risk giving up on the deeper plays due to that potential for an unblocked man coming in fast…should help our D in forcing an O vs ket them force our D to go a certain way. Bosa dropping back to cover because a fast DJ or K9 or White blitzing untouched is still a good outcome.

should be hell o fun to see how this D responds and offenses deal with it. No tape on us either will help in our tough schedule.

What if he mistimes the snap? He gets an offside or encroachment penalty/

I think that may help initially. But I also think that Staley will change things up on defense depending on the team we are playing. No more, "Here is what we will do, show us you can beat us". I expect the same thing on offense. Staley liked Payton's offense because of the complexity and pressure it brings to a defense. So once every one masters it, hopefully both the offense and defense will be using the same attack and confuse philosophy.
