James essentially hasn't played the last two years, when he did in 2019 it was barely. DJ is living on reputation right now until proven otherwise.

I'm not high on Michael Davis. But he's better than many of the other corners this team has had in recent years, and he's proven he can stay on the field, so I'll give him that.

Chris Harris Jr. is one of the weaknesses on the roster going into the 2021 season and the team needs a better slot corner.

I think Harris was pretty hurt last year and will be much better this year.

But there aren't a lot of choices on defense. I'll take my chances on him returning to form than any other player on this roster hitting a level they've never played at before.

Others I considered:

Tranquil - He was pretty good as a rookie but was hurt and it's not like he was dominant when he played.
Murray - Was okay for a rookie, maybe he improves in the new scheme but he already has an ankle injury and wasn't great last year. He had moments.
Nwosu - It's year 4 and his best moment happened his rookie season.
Justin Jones - He's entering year 4 and was still a rotation player last year.

Is there anyone else up for contention?

I don't think this is a terrible thing. I really think there are a lot of solid guys out there, but once you get past 3 there are a lot of question marks.
