    OT: Goodbye Chuck Bednarik

Chuck Bednarik won two NFL titles and was a nine-time first-team All-Pro in 14 seasons with the Eagles. Yet, one specific photo came to define his legacy. Elliot Harrison says it shouldn't have.

Say what you will, but he was one tough sob.

And he should be missed by everybody.

In an age where the play was more violent than now, he made it to 89.
Today the average lifespan for an NFL player is 57.

Why even have this thread if no one sees it?

I rarely go there myself. It's worthy to post it over here too.

I really was thinking about posting it here, but since he's not a Charger, and his play was mostly before the creation of the Chargers, and that thread was created for RIPs, I wanted to keep it going. He's an NFL great, but most casual modern day fans other than from the Eagles and Giants it's just a passing. I'm not sure which way he knocked Gifford's brain, since he did marry Kathy Lee. The Eagles are kind of like the Chargers too that they haven't won a league championship since the sixties.
