A good coach would instantly be able to eke out the wins this team is struggling to get.. They might not win every tight game, but they sure as hell would win more of those one score games. The baffling thing with this team is that once the offence clicks and plays well, the defence sucks, and the opposite way around as well. Pretty sure a better coach than Staley would be able to sort that out.

They’d win more than zero. Zero is a low bar to trip over. Staley thinks losing every close game is a sign of how good they are. They gonna go out there and compete

"We are a good football team. You've seen how well we played for 3 quarters!" - Mike McCoy

Not certain why Critty is down on Mike McCoy, but imagines the SS Staley, that barnacle clad barge at the bottom of the lagoon, is salvageable.

McCoy was the better head coach.

Although they started out fast, It took Schottenheimer his 3rd year to fully clean out the stench of losing from the Charger locker room.

Staley's successor will need some time, if he (or she) succeeds.

A Charger loss on Sunday would put Staley as a below 500 coach.

How fitting that it would be a beleaguered New England and Belichick to do it.

              I wouldn't worry . . . . . . . even if they win tomorrow BS will still end up below .500. Staley's done less with more . . . . . . . . . . .

we need a poll for this stuff. where is topcat? we need people to commit their pick, rather than just talking about it. :-)

                  A. Harbaugh
                  B. Belichick
                  C. Other
                  D. Critty special (Staley stays and takes over as GM)

I would choose A. Harbaugh if our dreams could actually happen and Spanos cared about winning enough to fork out 20 million per year(from his profits) and give Harbaugh full control...... but that is a dream that will never happen.... so it has to be "Other"..... whoever the other teams seeking a coach do not choose... lol

Is the question who do we want OR who do we think?

Who we want: Would be Harbaugh
Who we think: Would be Other

I would chose A as my first choice if it's with a new GM. But since I don't see Spanos opening the checkbook, I pick D which gets me a new GM but keeps Herbert in same system. After that is C other if it means a new GM. And then BB is last.
Who has it better than us?

The key is firing your GM to get a better one. Staley is not better. Not sure I want to keep Moore either. Yes Herb gets the same system but the system isn't that great.

Man this franchise is a mess.
