People have said the team is trying to move into a more power running game style. That puts a two TE lineup on the field for likely 50% of the time. That effectively removes snaps from whatever WR is brought in.
If you are coming in on a prove it deal, this is not a favorable situation. Even if you take Floyd out, Gates and Allen are still the major targets on the field. That's not going to change in a more run oriented offense.
Chargers are either going to need to overpay for a WR or wait till they have no options (or cut Floyd, which seems very unlikely since he likely retires as a Charger).
We need a #1 WR. No one currently available remotely fits that bill. All are at best 3rd-4th options. Wouldn't even put them ahead of Inman.
