    Jacoby Jones Signs With Bolts

    UT supposedly reporting as well.

Should be a low cost signing for what i think is a solid vet. 30 years old so won't cost an arm and a leg. Wonder if this is an indicator of plans for Royal or Floyd?

Solves our KR/PR role issue. Puts up 400-500 yard seasons except for last season where he dropped off the face of the earth for the Ravens. Not a star but a good role player and positive locker room guy. Probably a good complement to Allen/Floyd....6-2 215 lbs.

I expect this to be the type of player we'll be going after this off-season. A "nice" signing, but hardly SB-worthy news. I'd rather shell out bigger bucks for a guy like Cobb. And I'm not sure if Jones is much of an upgrade - if at all - over Royal or Malcom. He would contribute nicely on ST, however.

Pass. The guy is 30 and did very little last season. Has to be a younger fresher solution to our return woes out there somewhere.

I think we sign Ajirotutu instead. But if we sign Jones i cant see Tutu being resigned. Tutu is money on coverage. Cant deny how good Jones is on KO returns though. And is one of the better ones on Punts.

Gives us a Hester type player on returns. He had a higher average than Hester last year.

agree with most of what is said here.

He's a good returner. Not sure how much he'll contribute in the passing game. But a very good return man.

I miss Darrien Gordon on punt returns. Wasn't that his name? Sproles was okay too. I would be fine with Jacoby Jones. Returning may not seem like a big deal but if you can start out 5-10 yards further down the field every possession than what you're used to - with the occasional big gainer - it's got to help both the offense and defense. Momentum can also be recaptured by a long return. Returning punts/kicks is an underrated element in pro football IMO. If we can get Jones for no more than 3-4 mil for two seasons (total of 6-8 mil) then great for us.

Not too exciting. Not like Baltimore has a great WR corps and they let him walk.

I think they are seeing him as mainly a return guy, which would be a big upgrade and he fills both PR and KR duties.
