I would say that AJ had some home runs and some whiffs, just like any GM. The Eli trade was masterful. What really killed him here was injuries (Merriman, Buster Davis, English....).
AJ was the brains behind probably the best stretch of Charger seasons in history, so for that, I will try to remember him fondly.
I do think, with his early success, he got cocky and thought he was smarter than everyone else, and it caught up to him. Arrogance is not a good thing in evaluation.
