The influence a HC has on discipline is different nowadays, with highly paid egos backed by the Players Association and owners having to get out what they can from a players contract. Players today don’t seem to be as concerned about being in a coach’s “doghouse.” It’s now about coddling highly paid players, even if they act totally selfishly unprofessional at times.
That facemask penalty on the O-lineman by what’s his face was pure selfishness. Had nothing to do with dealing with the rush. He lost his cool. Players acting like that more now and couldn’t give a damn.
Brady quoted as saying the game softer than it was. In more ways than he alluded to.

No one is a bigger Tillery supporter than I
with a full offseason under a defensive minded HC now in year 5, I can't defend his play through 2 games.
unless he shows up in a dramatic turn around, I'll have to sadly give up hope.
I really really thought his game would transfer... shit.Darius "4.36" Davis
top play speed: 23.47 MPH
HARBAUGH STRONG: 2-0 vs Arrhythmia

On one play, he was actually pushed backwards by Zach Martin on a pass rush.

Tillery lacks fire/explosion off the line, then he is outsmarted by offensive lineman and or out physically played, hence nullified. DT is such a difficult position to play technically & mentally possessing core strength and grit. Jerry is probably about a 5 in all these areas, nothing stands out and if it hasn’t stood out by now it probably never will.
Teams reach for interior defensive lineman all the time, very few to go around. This is one position I would carefully weigh any off field red flags, depending on their nature, because you want a natural disrupter, mentally/physically tough character.
