Why are they releasing Tyron Johnson?

I remember Harrington. He was pretty good in preseason. I think you hit on it, Johnson must not give off the vibe Staley wants. Parnham was interviewed somewhere and I watched him. He said Johnson was a very strong personality on the team and really liked to let you know when he did something. He presented in a a positive way, though.

I think Johnson was second only to Keenan Allen. There must be another reason for releasing him. Some character issue.

I never heard of whisper of any problem with Herbert. The only reason I can think of for releasing him is some character issue. I hope he doesn't become Wes Welker for another team. He was money for the Chargers last season. Didn't drop a single ball.

Right. The Chargers don't win that game against the Raiders later in the year without T-Billy and the routes he run. I remain confused, other than I agree, it must be some character issue.

He was a project who was elevated off the PS for game four and steadily improved as the season progressed. He was/is poised to be become another UDFA success. I just hope it isn't for another team.

Sure. I want to keep 3 QBs - but am fine with 2 QBs and one quarantining on the practice squad

End of the day, if the Chargers were really relying on players 45-53 - they got pretty big issues - like injuries or Telesco really screwed the pooch on the top of the roster. Go around the league, there are "surprising cuts" all the time. I think part of the reason they are surprising as we know their name. Broughton was on the roster a few years. Johnson last year.
