If you think he can "age" like Andrew Whitworth and some other LTs - its a good signing. He is one of the best LTs in the game. I still am good with drafting LT at 13 and being judicious with cap space and getting at least and OG and OC/OG in free agency if you bring back Feeney.

But I wouldn't hate this signing.

I like Ted Karras better as a fit for us. Probably close to the same price (maybe a bit less). Karras is younger, stronger, and improved the Oline play on 2 different teams.

Hell no! Spending $21 mil per year in a down year cap wise is a recipe for disaster.

No major injuries. Missed 4 games over 5 seasons. Started at OC for 1+ seasons at NE then last year for the Fins..
Solid, ascending, technician, nasty streak, and possesses as a stout anchor.

It's remarkable really on how well Herbert played with that OL performance and with key offensive injuries to Ekeler, Jackson, Allen, and MW. Those poor OL rankings matches the eye test also!!

You're right, of course. As a Charger fan, I simply reserve the right to overpay an OT when the GM seems incapable of drafting offensive lineman, in any round.
