Mathews was the best running back in that draft: a useful player when healthy who helped get us to the 2013 playoffs - once at 12, they did pass up on some great players to get him.

Verrett about to get a big 2nd contract with the 49ers; Gordan got a big 2nd contract with Denver.

With Ingram, they passed up on Chandler Jones, who a few had us take in the mocks.

Would you call Luis Vasquez a miss since his 2nd big contact was with Denver?

    Under Telesco:

Fluker: C - week draft & he is still around
Verrett: C - Roby/Dennard? Verrett better right now
Gordan: B - all pro who was very productive: team couldn't afford his next contract (might have taken Armstead with that pick)
Bosa: B - great player, more than a few pro bowlers went in the following picks who would have also worked
Williams: C - good player: they passed on a few better players at PON, hence the C
James: B - who didn't want him? injury history taking the shine off this pick
    Tillery: D minus - mistake
Herbert: A+ - not a slam dunk choice, could have gone in another direction
Murray: tbd - he plays, which is a good thing

    Teo: D
Attaochu C minus - still plays
    Perryman: B
Henry: B plus - passed on Chris Jones who some wanted here
    Adderly: D/tbd

    TT grade: B-/C+
Only solid Ds go to Golden Domers: TT take note.

That is a horrible drafting record..... Bosa was a no brainer...... all of the others required brains and research........ and misses were major.....

other teams have turned it around in a year or 2...... Chargers keep drafting badly year after year, along with poor coaching which leads to many losing seasons.....
since some of our players have gotten better after they joined other teams with better coaching, maybe if Chargers had great coaching, our draft choices might play better to be used better????

Telesco has had two opportunities now - he has failed both times

What Verrett does with the Niners is meaningless. Telesco wasted years with him when he should have moved on post 2016. Gordon was at no point a Elite/All Pro. Productive yes? Elite? Never.

Flukes is not C simply because he has hung around. That pick set us back and got the ball rolling on streak of failed OL draft picks by TT.

2013 - 2015 drafts can be summed up like this. Thank God we selected Keenan Allen.

Noone can make a case for Tom Telesco staying on as GM.

Back to the topic at hand, when Anthony Lynn walks to his car on Monday, Tom Telesco walks with him.

Unless you think that the only way to get Daboll is with Telesco. I highly doubt it. But still something to consider.

But that still has Telesco on the hot seat not hitting enough yet.
                Ill agree with that, yes.

Yes all missed when someone else signs them to a second contract. The philosophy is build through draft and RESIGN you own. So you missed on team building when that doesn't happen.
                  Yes Lugiet was a hit.
It doesn't matter if there were better hits out there.

Who has it better than us?

I truly think the decision has been made already. This Sunday doesn't mean anything.

If the Spanos keep Lynn it will be because of the "narrative" and "intangibles" plus its easy

If they fire him - they might show they want to win football games.

                    Its that easy to me
                    LOL, yeah...

Herbert: Well its hard to gauge coach Lynn. He does come in the QB meetings but he falls asleep most of the time and lets Pep do the talking. When he wakes up , he often just says we plan to run the ball but be prepared if we have to play catchup.

Lol. I actually think he's more involved in Herbert development than a lot of people think. Hence, why it's harder to get rid of him from a player and FO perspective.

He managed 58 wins in 8 seasons, no AFC West titles, with Pro-Bowl QB-play and he gets another year?

That average means a 7-9 record for 8 consecutive years.

Look around the league and it is average. Compare it to AJ Smith's Marty years and it looks bad.
