Lynn is producing essentially the same results assuming we end up with a losing record this season--2 winning seasons with one playoff appearance and one playoff win followed by two losing seasons. IMO, Lynn has had more talent to work with than McCoy did as well.
don't quite recall the reason for McCoy's downfall, besides that 'twas doubtful he was holding the locker room, of which am not sure where the silent majority is in this Chargers' locker room as Lynn did exercise some discipline over a few of his players after last season was no longer in doubt, and gotta believe some are not overly good w/his handling of the Herbert/Tyrod situation ??
my guess is that the same thing that brought down McCoy is the same thing that is weighing down Lynn.... the play of our lines.
don't recall McCoy having a NT of note, and Lynn's decline is pretty much lock step w/the injuries of both Okung and Pouncey, which has been followed up w/an offseason of Tevi, Pipkins, Feeney, Lamp and the additions of Turner and Bulaga.... not sure where we're at development wise, but do think that is the main reason PR had his struggles, and why our O has struggled to get points on the board, before last weekend (w/at least a coupla few max protects in there).
the main diff is Herbert throwing for 12/13 under pressure (Phil wasn't too shabby against the blitz either btw).... that's insane, and.... perhaps Shane is getting better and had the offseason under his belt, and perhaps yet again AL has started the season 1-3, after his inaugural opening quarter @0-4, before he yielded to a more Whisenhunt/Rivers friendly style of play, and is now more open to opening up the offense under Herbert 'n Stitch ??
McCoy and the Whiz started off great w/the adaptation of things to Phil's strengths, and as mentioned don't recall the specifics of why the wheels came off, and....
Lynn is a completely diff story me thinx, as he has NFL cred, has a somewhat commanding presence, just not sure if he has the HC execution enough to compete w/the top heads in the league ??
personally am not so much about getting rid of Lynn, as I am about getting David Shaw (former QBs coach among other things) in here, as just think he's the better complement to team Tommy John.
