Lynn probably knew it was a punctured lung, hence his statement about 100% for him to be able to return. I agree that starters shouldn't be displaced from that because of an injury, and Lynn crafted the statement to give himself an out, in support for TT. Even if he comes back in a week or two, TT will be limited by a flack jacket so he might be mended, but limited.

Lynn is taking a lot of flack for that comment. It is a standard coaching truism - thou shall not lose thy starting role due to injuries.
