Sorry. Don't know who Cook is either. Can he make pork chops?

Put Green on the All Potential, All Disappointment team. I certainly wouldn't overpay for him.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Weddle was just about the only guy Norv developed.

The last coach we had who really developed players was Marty.

Kris Dielmann developed well from a very raw player here.
                Malcom Floyd was another.

That whole crop was a great job of coaches taking UDFA and making them into pro bowlers (or almost pro bowl caliber players). Under Marty, it was almost everyone. Now, it is the rare player who does.

And of the ones who do, it seems like there are as many Louis Vasquesz types (play well, go on a really excel) with another team. That is probably just because I don't track other teams nearly as close as I do the Chargers, but it does seem like other teams have nearly as much luck with our former players as we do.

We need a coaching staff and HC who can develop players like Marty did. Maybe people will forget the stupid idea that teams have to get really aggressive in the playoffs, now that a weak ass coach like Kubiak can win a SB by turtling up.

I didn't know Scifres was this expensive. I was hoping he'd retire, but this makes cutting him a no brainer...

San Diego Chargers - Mike Scifres

It's not often that cutting a punter is considered an option to save salary cap space, but Scifres counts more than $4 million against the Chargers' salary cap in 2016 and they can save all but $600,000 of it by releasing him.

After 13 seasons with the team, Scifres' play has declined a bit even though he's still one of the better punters in the league. But it's not a difficult position to replace and the Chargers could find a similar player who costs less than $1 million in 2016.

Scifres plays like a vet min player now. He's on the downhill leg of his career.
