He was already there. The daughter will have to be in better shape for the surgery, and that won't probably be until April. Not much for a dad to do if the baby is in neo-natal, but is stable.

As a father I can attest that sometimes it helps to get back to normal some. As long as there is no imminent danger. Everyone handles their own way.
