Chargers waived G Craig Watts today. His four-game suspension dating back to last December ended.
His suspension ends and NOW we waive him????? What was the point?

My guess is that they want him on the PS.

Can you waive a player who is suspended?

I think you can. The team claiming him assumes that they will have control after the suspension is done. I know with vested players that suspended or to-be-suspended players can be 'released' then signed as free agents, despite knowing that they wont be helpful until later.

In the case of Watts, there was no risk in keeping him on the suspended list, because there was no loss in the 53 active list, and the team isn't paying him. He was practicing with the team during training camp, despite the suspension spanning the season break.

I could be wrong as well!

TE Kyle Miller being brought back. I hate the thought of it, but I think the Chargers should just IR Green since he can't ever seem to stay healthy.

With LaDarius Green having suffered a second concussion this month, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports the Chargers are bringing back tight end Kyle Miller.

Stucky was passable as a safety. Not great, but definitely better than a guy who can't get a job on an NFL team.
              Prediction:
              Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

The San Diego Chargers reinforced the tight end position, bringing back Kyle Miller nine days after he was waived on Sept. 15. To make room, the team released DT Mitch Unrein.

The 6-5, 262-pound Miller initially joined the Chargers on May 5 off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons. He appeared in all four preseason games for the Bolts, leading them with 11 catches for 66 yards. The tight end was active in Week 1, mainly seeing time on special teams.

Unrein to be signed by the Bears

Defensive tackle Mitch Unrein won't be without a job for long after having his contract terminated by the San Diego Chargers on Thursday.

Chargers signed G Craig Watts to practice squad, team announced. C-G Michael Huey released to make room. Watts spent last year on PS.

I guess Huey isn't the best center on the team anymore...
