And while a lot of players have had an off game or quarter, who else has been as consisently bad?

No one. It was a joke. Like Richard Marshall being my favorite Charger. I just feel bad for a him; he seems a pretty good guy. And the League could stand to have a LOT more good guys.

Yeah, like you said, he seemed a good character guy and a pro's pro. But clearly his physical limitations were too much to bear. What good is being a solid tackler if you can't keep up with the guy you're supposed to tackle? As has previously been noted, I think the Chargers did him a favor by releasing him before the trade deadline. Clearly, the team decided that if we're going to struggle at that position, best to do so with a young player who has upside than a vet at or near the end of his career. I wish Marshall the best elsewhere, but I think he's done.

Maybe Marshall is like that dude in "Master and Commander" - the one that changed the luck of the HMS Surprise for the better when he jumped off the ship. I just hope Marshall lands on his feet and not at the bottom of the ocean.
well, last year the defense started to turn around with the benching of Cox, then continued getting better as injured guys came back. Hopefully lightning strikes twice!
