And if the 2020 team goes 9-7 with Tyrod.
And Rivers is on the Colts and goes 9-7.
People will post that Colts have holes on roster and suspect coaching and Philip carried them to all 9 wins. And if Rivers was still on Chargers he would have won 4 more games than Tyrod can. So 13-3 if he stayed with Chargers.
And if you point out he has not won a division title in a decade....they will say team game, he cannot do it himself....but them claim he himself can lift a team by himself to 4 more wins.
I hope he has a really successful 2020 if he plays somewhere. But if he goes 8-8 on the Colts, then we need to make the point that only Rivers could carry that terrible colts team to 8 wins. Because if Rivers misses playoffs or doesn't win divison it is always someone else fault because its a team game.
It's Football Science.

Team game. Rivers is not to blame.
Would win less game if it wasn't for Rivers.
How many times has that been posted in various ways. From blaming HC, OC, DC, Special teams, the o-line, the defense for a decade.
And when a single finger gets pointed at Rivers....there is backlash posts about how horrible the team would be without Rivers.
Come on man!
Its all here on the TPB for people to read.

All we have to do is watch it all unfold.
See where Rivers career goes from here.
See how all these college QB career goes.
Some will not make it. Some may make it later on a different team. Sometimes the 1st stop wasn't the right timing or fit. Like a Brees or a Steve Young.
Some get drafted then get traded and succeed like a Brett Farve going from Atlanta to Packers. Some come from other leagues like a Kurt Warner having played in the world league and arena league. Some get drafted later rds because they don't fit the prototype or have question marks about how their game will translate to NFL like Russell Wilson.
I think this is a very good QB class and many can succeed with a franchise that build around what they do best. For the more mobile, more RPO and rollouts. For the less mobile, a different gameplan with maybe more under center and play action.
Play great defense, execute the offense and don't make critical errors, penalties and turnovers. Thats how the Patriots win. Thats what Lynn wants to do.

Football IS a team game and no QB in the league will win regularly without good coaching and good talent. That is an irrefutable fact.
People thinking Hurts would not win 5 games playing with what Rivers did last year simply means that they think Hurts has a low ceiling, high bust probability.
People thinking that Rivers would have played better if he had an offensive line that gave him more time are just using common sense. All QBs will play better if you give them more time and all QBs in the league would have been affected dealing with what Rivers did last year.
Ignoring McCree's idiotic decision after the interception or Kaedings missed playoff kicks that have affected Rivers playoff record is ignoring reality. Swap Kaeding with Vinatieri and ask yourself how many SBs Brady has.
Rivers may or may not be done. I have no problem moving on from a 38 year old QB coming off a bad season. But the big picture paints a far different picture than what you are spinning.

I've had the idea of starting a post on surprising coaches stats but...
How is the weather in SD ?
Wouldn't #9 fit perfectly on a Brady White jersey ?

Football IS a team game and no TEAM in the league will win regularly without good and consistent situational QB play. That is an irrefutable fact
Yes. FG kicker misses hurt No doubt.
other mistakes by other teammates hurts. That has not been ignored. Also, the QB making questionable throw in close game that is intercepted affects the winning and losing as well. There has been a few too many of those. That is also an irrefutable fact.
It goes both was my friend.
Because its a team game.
