Barry Sanders had amazing feet, but his top end speed wasn't what made him. If you see some of his old long runs, you'll see he'll get caught from behind.
Btw, Keenan Allen has really good feet and body movement to fake the DB when you see him in person. At practices up close, the guy is amazing the DBs you can tell are a half second behind what he's doing. Remember vs KC, the ProBowler for KC (Marcus Peterson??) he was lost vs Keenan but still ended up a top DB in the NFL last year.
When the concerns about Mike Williams are: Lack of focus, drops balls, lazy routes, doesn't do little things like head fakes on the DB that's a red flag in my book. When his report is that he doesn't get separation against college DBs or can't get off press coverage, that's not what I would expect of the #7 overall pick. The lazy stuff and routes can be fixed if he wants to, but lack of separation is hard. The WRs don't have the quickness to get off the press or the deep speed to put fear into the DB going over the top. All these little things matter. Sure, can you survive without it? Of course, if you are exceptional in other areas. But too many poor areas makes you wonder why you over draft a guy like this. Again, Im only going by his draft profile since I figure these guys are paid to be experts not us fanboys.
Have you ever seen him play or just reading a report on him? Maybe it's just me , but many of these "experts" are wrong a lot. Kiper to name one who makes his living being an expert. He said he would never draft a RB in the first round if he were a GM, which he will never be.
And again BTW, Woodhead ran a 4.35, Welker a 4.65. Welker plays fast all the time which is just as or important than a 40. I like speed guys but a guy that plays fast is nice too.Last edited by Boltjolt; 04-27-2017, 07:56 PM.
