We did it with Troutman, and while it takes patience, he is turning into a pretty good OG.

I think it is a pretty good idea. We have limited resources, and we couldn't get a guy that good in the 6th round any other way.

I still think AJ didn't know he was injured.

I wouldn't go any earlier than a 5th for him. We need guys who can play this year too. Plus his deal would really be for 3 years not 4.

Not really, we would be able to RFA him since he won't play this year. Agree on not going earlier than 5th though. 6-7th rounders are virtually Just like UDFA's.

I saw a lot of stuff that had Troutman ranked fairly high (3rd round), so unless I see otherwise, I still think he was a guy we drafted and intended to redshirt him.

While he still has a lot to learn about pass protection, I like his progress and I can see him taking over at an OG spot in 2015 or 2016, provided he plays well. I expect given Reinhart's injury history, he will get to start a few games this year too.

Heh this new mock from Walter Football has Verrett dropping to us in the 2nd round (Nix in first). Don't think it's very likely to happen, but Verrett's recent surgery gives us an outside shot (I think he goes high 2nd round).
