Little considered good news about the first round: Where are the WRs? Lots of guys slipping. Bodes well for availabilties for us in 2nd and 3rd.

Yeah, I thought it would go this way when I did the pick 32 contest earlier today. Verrett at #25 was one of the picks I actually got exactly right.

He's not gonna be a slot corner for us. He may move to the slot in nickel formations though. Should be on the field 100% of the snaps.

Verret as i said has great ball skills. Great makeup speed and good in run defense. Has a 39" vertical leap. A little short which sux but i like him. Bummer we didnt get Fuller but oh well, i feel we got a good player.

Although he's a CB, the scouting report on him is a little like Weddle's was in the sense that Weddle had "speed" concerns, etc. But the bottom line is that both players were extremely productive in college....top 5% at their positions. If we can use him the right way and his small frame doesn't lead to injury issues, he will be a dynamite player for us. I have no question.

His ball skills have been mentioned, he's good on returns, he's an effective blitzer , he has good tackling technique and will stick his nose in there.

Probably the 3rd best fit at CB for us. I wasnt sold on Roby. Its a safe pick. The kid can play football. One of the strongest CBs in the draft. Our secondary is short but its zone so we can get away with it somewhat. We have a pretty fast group of DBs now. Plus we now have our kick returner.

I wanted other players...but im not disappointed. I support this team and am fully behind this pick.

I feel the same way. We got a great player at a position of need. Can't really beat that.

He reminds me a bit of Ronde Barber. Same size. Productive in college. Good ball skills. Good quickness. Willing to hit.
