He is asked to execute his own blocks (often down field) all on his own.
The Baltimore Ravens' offensive line suffered a rash of injuries in 2017, but that didn't keep their running game from being competitive. See how assistant coac
It's absolutely ridiculous to assume that bringing in Dissly means that his job is to help Plumpkins...

Cardinals are rumored to be a trade partner with the Vikings. But will they really pass on MHJ...? I doubt it.
The Chargers have leverage after the Falcons beat the Vikings out for Cousins in free agency.
I think trading up to #4 would cost the Vikings additional picks they just can't afford to give away.
Meanwhile, I think the Chargers would be willing to move back to #11 without asking for more than the #23 pick.

As for your trade down scenario with the Vikings: Again, the Chargers have NO leverage period. The Vikings are balking at giving Arizona #11 and #23 and a 2025 1st right now. You believe they would give the Chargers #23 when this deal would have to take place while the Chargers are on the 15-minute clock.
The value of pick #5 is 1,700 points.
The value of #11 and #23 is 2,010 points.
That means the Vikings would have to overpay the equivalent of 310 points which is a late 2nd round pick. Even if you say the so called "Quarterback Tax" comes into play. You would still need leverage over the Vikings to pay that.
(Not happening) why because you would have to convince them that either the Raiders or Broncos are giving you a better package and that the Chargers are willing to give their Divisional foes a Franchise QB, all while passing on a Bona-fide Elite talent they would otherwise not have an opportunity to draft.
You can't use the threat of the Giants against them because the Giants would only give up a 3rd at best (70) or more likely a pick swap of #70 for #105.
Then you have to assume the Chargers would be willing to give up what would be their #2 player on their draft board (an Elite player) for a "potential starter at #11" and a player at #23 that they value so much they feel they can't get that value at #37 or later. **I highly, highly doubt the player at #23 in this draft is that much worse than the player at #37 or even #43 for them. (ie. Mike Sainristil @ 43)
Minnesota is said to be desperate for a QB and really want Maye but in case he is gone they have brought in JJ. You can throw that draft chart out the friggin window. We ahe something they don't to achieve getting that QB. We have #5.
If they want Maye /McCarthy they SHOULD want to outbid then Raiders or Giants or whoever to mskemsure theybget him. We shouldn't have to convince them of shit. Tell them what we want and they can say no...but they don't have a second rounder so now what? We don't want a 2025 second round. I don't think it will be that hard to get it. In fact many other pundits think we should get more. I've heard also a 2025 3rd, or their 4th this year and I've heard 2025 first. So it isn't crazy talk.
That trade chart means little in this case.

OT has become dominant in TPB, thanks to a couple hardy enthusiasts. Let’s say OT is A priority … the next question is the most assumed question of the off-season - what type of OT does JH want?
Does he want a nasty crushing tone setting roadgrader? A lot of folks have said this for a long time. If so, Fuaga and Latham bring that nasty streak, Alt does not … 5 is an overdraft for them as they do not possess the pure LT skill set that is worthy of 5.
Does he want foremost to protect Herbie and gain LT insurance? In that case, Alt is the best and he is worth a 5 as he brings LT starter capability that gives future flexibility when Slater becomes expensive. I think Alt will transition to RT ok. We have real coaches now after all.
Does JH value a pick that already is an experienced RT? That decrements Alt odds to probably off the board if he also wants that bone-crusher.
I have no idea. I have no idea how those who possess levels of certainty do. I get all the tea leaf readers and I see what they see - I just don’t translate that into certainty about any pick. I am sure they will draft OL - I do not know who or when. I don’t even know if it will be OT or interior. I don’t believe it’s Alt or Nothing but then again, it could be Alt.
Factor into all of that OT analysis - the team does have other needs. He obviously cares about OL as a foundation, but does he see that as the greatest weakness or maximum improvement opportunity? Again I’m ???

In fact, Hayden Hurst spoke about how in this office the First priority of the TE is blocking.
Bowers will have the greatest positive impact of any rookie this coming season..... but Chiefs and Patriots have proven you can win many SB's with a great QB and great TE, with no great WR's...... great TE's are the biggest difference making matchup nightmares on an offense.... and Bowers is maybe the greatest TE prospect in history.....
Unfortunately people are too obsessed with Diva WR's.....

I know you really like Bowers and the trade back is the only way to make a Bowers pick make sense from a "positional value" standpoint, but unfortunately that ship has sailed, and I actually like Bowers.
