At 17 I wouldn’t be mad at the pick, I’d just feel like we left chips on the table. Good GMs hate that. It would be reaching for a need, and we all know TT covets value in R1.Our quarterback is a golden god.

I think he’s the best nickel CB in the draft.
He’d play the star role in Staley’s D, basically the slot, Troy Hill’s role if we’re looking at the 2020 Rams. Never saw Daxton playing in too much space and I doubt that would change under Staley. Our quarterback is a golden god.

I have all three tackles (Penning, Raimann, Lucas) ranked right around the late 1st round and early 2nd round. I think all are plug-and-play. I like Raimann and Lucas better for our offense... but Penning will be a very good OT for someone for years to come. The nit-picking on Penning's 1v1 drills @ the Senior Bowl is ridiculous... He played a very good game @ the SB.
If you had three 3rd round picks (#66, #79, #99)... damage could be done. Immediate depth help with eventual starters once the JH contract kicks in.

I hate this “pick the BPA” stuff.
Here are 14 prospects for us at 17. If all were there, who is the BPA?
Tier 3: 14 prospects
Grades between 90 and 91. Good NFL starters and are considered strong values in the bottom half of Round 1 in any given draft class. I had 15 players in this tier in 2021.
10. Jermaine Johnson II, DE, Florida State (91)
11. Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU (91)
12. Nakobe Dean, ILB, Georgia (91)
13. Devin Lloyd, ILB, Utah (91)
14. Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington (90)
15. Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State (90)
16. Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia (90)
17. Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State (90)
18. Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa (90)
19. Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama (90)
20. Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia (90)
21. Malik Willis, QB, Liberty (90)
22. Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh (90)
23. Daxton Hill, S, Michigan (90)Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
The Wasted Decade is done.
Build Back Better.

Just did a mock on PFF with a trade back with Lions (#32). Also got their #66 and #97.
#32 RT Abraham Lucas
#66 WR Alec Pierce (for all you WR crazy fans out there)
#79 CB Marcus Jones
#99 S Bryan Cook
#123 EDGE Tyreke Smith
#160 RB Pierre Strong
#195 C Luke Wattenberg
#236 RB TJ Pledger (double dip)

I'd be fine with any of those guys at 17 except I don't think we will be going DT there and definitely not QB.
