I would rather draft a natural RT than count on converting a LT. It's not nearly as easy as people seem to think it is.

Unless it's Cross.

It is pretty easy if your LT experienced player has RT traits in spades like Penning.

Cross lacks Penning's athleticism and upside, so I would take Penning over Cross if I could choose between the two.

LMAO, says who? The muscle memory is completely different.

Penning has bad footwork anyway so maybe it would work oit that his feet are better on the right.

At one point, I was touting AVT as a possible LT.
But then people won me over with "his arms are too short" for LT argument.
That's why I started thinking AVT and Slater would be guards...
But the technique for both players was there... Slater being the better technician.

Funny since the Jets did move AVT to guard. I think his arms were even shorter than Slater.

Slater is the exception, not the norm. In addition to his athleticism, his instincts and technique for recovery are maybe the best I've ever seen. Cross also has great recovery and can work his hands independently.

Just saying Slater has forced me to reevaluate what I'm looking for in an OT.

Based on those SB winning teams' first picks being all specific and all is why drafting Jordan Davis makes sense (as an example). A team like the lowly Texans and a well coached team like the Pats gave us our worse losses via running the ball up the gut. SB bound teams merely view their picks as accessories on the way to a party anyways.

Just a correction about the Pats game. We actually held down that rushing offense pretty well. The offense was just mediocre that day.

I must've confused that 2020 game where the Pats had 160+ rushing yards beating us 45-0.

Its a bit too early but I will say it... TT has done a fucking awesome job so far this offseason... bring on that RT with the #17 pick TT and I'll shut my mouth all season.
