I have seen flashes of this pass rush. I reckon Tillery would explode with Jordan Davis next to him.
Run downs could be SJD + Austin Johnson
3rd downs could be Jordan Davis + Tillery.

It got worse.
Renner said there was no better fit than Tillery to LAC.
We are getting closer to an ideal rotation up front,
with Austin, SJD, Covington and Jerry.
Just one more draftee please.

Was Tillery a good first round pick? No....but thats yesterdays boxscore....he is what he is, a decent role player, a needed piece, that would cost as much or more than what he is making, if we needed to add what he brings from the FA pool, being on his rookie contract.

I don't know if Penning is worth the value at 17 with what will be on the board. BPA can be LB,CB, WR.or Edge.
RT is a need but I don't want to reach either. This team needs talent.

I don't want to pin our hopes on a RT rookie. Surely there's a vet out there.

I'd like a vet RT and supplement that with a decent swing tackle rookie prospect.

So while I try to be objective, I secretly root for him a little harder than most.

You have a point. I would say a first round CB would shore up that position and make us pretty darn good other than that if not Penning. Probably go CB or DT or EDGE because add a blue chip player to any of these positions we probably shore up at that spot. If we go LB we probably are still a LB away from being close to elite.

If Penning is drafted at 17 and turns into a quality starter, maybe a fringe pro bowler, is he a reach then? Any quality starter is never a reach, only if they do not live up to the hype, then they are a bust.

Penning had a lot of problems with Sammy Small School edge rushers, why does anyone think he’ll be even so-so against Crosby or Clark or the other top rushers in the AFCW?
