Teams that trade up kill their depth.
How much depth can any team have? They in effect played the entire year missing two starters in the interior, then lost both starting offensive tackles, one in the AFC championship game. Their line still played pretty well all year until the super bowl. I would say they showed a lot of depth throughout the year, it just caught up to them in the end.

But in 2013, teams that traded up LT (Philly and KC) ended up with excellent OT's (Fisher and Johnson) that sustained their teams for years. We were left with Fluker.
The #2 OT and second pick overall ended up a bust. So did the #1 OG and #1 pass rusher. 3 of the top 7 picks were busts.

Panthers could use an OT. I expect them to select a CB, though in the 1st round.
Problem is... they could use their 2nd round pick on an OT. They traded 2022's 2nd round pick to get Darnold... meaning they want to use this year's 2nd round pick on someone.

Cameron Erving looks like a 1-year signing at OT. Greg Little was drafted in the 2nd round in 2019... but he's been injured a lot and hasn't played well when given starts (6 starts).

If there were some good OT's left (12 teams with OT needs) in round 2, I could see the Panthers drafting the last of the good OT's before Chargers 2nd round pick.

If the Panthers finish 4-12 next year
It would be a master shot

It helps that we have Uchenna and Fackrell as depth. So I see Edge as a third round and later option unless someone drops to us unexpectedly.

It’s LT in the first or second since Okung was not resigned. Remember that Greg Little was a big enough disappointment that they traded for Okung last year. It was a great example of a no win trade lol.

Panthers move is a blow...that was a QB needy team...wanted 5 to go in top 10, but didn't want Darnold to be one of them!!

Panthers are also a threat to take a tackle.

Best scenario....a QB hungry team, maybe NE, trades up with the Panthers...we don't want them picking, regardless of position....whether we are contemplating a trade up for Sewell, or letting the board come to us, we want them outta there!
                      Adopted Bolt: Kimani Vidal RB

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

If somebody is trading up to #4 for a QB then I'd think #6 or 7 would be the spot to go for us as Cincinnati drafts Chase lol. Miami going WR or Pitts, could go defense.

Saw a scenario where Minnesota trades up ahead of us and takes Slater. Im thinking maybe we have to do the same. I'd just like to keep our second rounder if possible.

Either way- will be ready for the draft to know who the LT and CB are.

I truly am against trading up but if Telesco feels his job is on the line -- he might just do it.
