Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray is headed for a professional career in baseball, and one former NFL star seems to think he’s making the right decision. Former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann, who infamously suffered a career-ending leg injury, is fully behind Murray’s decision to skip the NFL and go pro in baseball. Theismann’s statement is certainly informed by his own experiences. All you need to do is look at what Washington’s current quarterback is going through to understand why the NFL can be so dangerous. Baseball is far from a sure thing, but you’re less likely to suffer a catastrophic injury there than you are if you’re playing quarterback.
