The first big play in Monday’s National Championship Game was made by Alabama defensive back Tony Brown. Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm underthrew an open Javon Wims. Brown made him play, adjusting on the underthrown ball and taking it from Wims. Given that the Bulldogs could have potentially scored a touchdown with a big play, it was a swing. But Georgia was let off the hook when the defense forced a field goal attempt on the ensuing possession, which was missed by Crimson Tide kicker Andy Pappanastos.
