Chargers Sign Michael Schofield to a Two-Year Deal

The former Bronco has re-signed with the Chargers after providing valuable depth in 2017. After being claimed off waivers from division rival Denver Broncos, Michael Schofield played in 15 games for the Los Angeles Chargers. Tom Telesco apparently valued him as depth because the Chargers have agreed to a two-year deal with the offensive tackle.
Schofield was a third-round pick out of Michigan back in 2014. After not playing during his rookie season, Schofield started 29 games the next two years for Denver including all 16 in games in 2016. He started only 5 of his 15 games with the Chargers and should represent an important backup rather than a starter, but perhaps he will be given the opportunity to compete for the right tackle spot with Joe Barksdale moving on.
Hopefully, we will have the full terms later in the day, and when we do we will update. What do you think about the Chargers re-signing Schofield? Let us know in the comments.
